New words: —
Total words: 50539
Accomplished in fiction: Added a new scene. Our hero walks into a bar…. Okay, it’s not the start of a joke, it’s an information gathering scene where Jefferson meets w/ a local journalist to swap info and get a lead. The name of the bar: Brubaker’s.
Accomplished in life: Not much. I’m going outside now to water the beds and maybe mow the lawn, maybe get some vitamin D. That’s all optional though. My priority is to get this revision done yesterday.
Other: A study in revision-metrics. It’s tough to get a metric on how much progress I make in a day’s work of revisions. I kept a first draft spreadsheet, but that model no longer fits. The new words I write are peppered throughout the story. This stretch isn’t about new words or total words, it’s about aligning the draft. So, until a better model comes along, lets track the daily changes to this draft’s “total words.”
