THE FANTASTIC MACHINE, a hardboiled steampunk cthulhu thriller about a hotel detective struggling to keep his family & friends safe when an ancient evil is unleashed on the 1905 World’s Exposition.
Accomplished in life: We’re finally having a wee bit of summer heat here in Portland. To help the sweet little plantisimos survive the blistering 90-94 degree days I gave them a thorough watering this morning. It was a really nice way to spend an hour. I thought about story stuff. Also, we had some friends over last night, so I spent some time today cleaning up the kitchen.
Other: Chapter friggin’ Thirteen. My first pass through it was incomplete and now, rather than go through and adjust a few lines here and there, I’m writing it freshy fresh from scratch. I sketched it out on the yellow pads today, how the scenes should go. But I’m just too pooped to write it now. Tomorrow, then. Strong cup of coffee, shut the door, write it and don’t stop ’till it’s wrote.
